1. Description of Services

Xoshnus is a specialized digital platform providing resources for Kurdish, Arabic, and multilingual typography and design. Our services include:

  • Font Catalog & Downloads: Curating, showcasing, and providing direct downloads for Unicode fonts across multiple weights and styles in formats such as TrueType (.ttf), Web Open Font Format 2 (.woff2), and ready-to-use CSS Kits.
  • Interactive Font Previews: Real-time font rendering, text customization, letter size and weight adjustments, color overlays, and multi-language script samples.
  • Local PC Fonts Explorer (/fonts/pc): In-browser inspection and previewing of local fonts installed on desktop devices via supported browser APIs.
  • Text & Script Converter (/convert): Real-time text translation and encoding conversion between Kurdish Unicode, Non-Unicode (legacy encodings), and Latin alphabets.
  • Help & Educational Center (/help): Video guides and resources explaining typography usage and software installation.

2. Intellectual Property and Licensing

A. Platform Intellectual Property

The Xoshnus platform, including its brand name, logo, website design, UI layout, software source code, graphics, and custom tool implementations, is the intellectual property of Xoshnus and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the platform itself without our explicit written permission.

B. Font Licenses and Usage Rights

  • Third-Party & Designer Ownership: Fonts featured on Xoshnus are created by their respective type designers, foundries, or contributors. Designers retain all copyright and intellectual property rights in their font designs.
  • Individual Font Licenses: Each font on Xoshnus is distributed under its own specific license terms (such as SIL Open Font License (OFL), Creative Commons, Freeware for Personal Use, or Commercial License).
  • User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for reviewing and complying with the license attached to any font you download or embed before using it in personal, commercial, broadcast, or corporate projects. Xoshnus provides license information for guidance, but it remains the user's obligation to verify usage rights with the respective designer or foundry.

C. Color Palettes and Generated Assets

  • Color combinations, palette schemes, and exported image/vector files generated through our color tools are provided freely for your personal and creative workflows. You are free to use generated color codes (HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK) in your designs, websites, and commercial applications.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

When using Xoshnus, you agree not to:

  1. Abuse Infrastructure or Automated Scraping: Use automated crawlers, bots, scrapers, or scripts to bulk-download font archives or overload our servers beyond reasonable human usage limits, or bypass our automated rate-limiting protections.
  2. Disrupt Security: Attempt to probe, scan, breach, or circumvent any security measures, authentication mechanisms, or reverse-proxy configurations.
  3. Malicious Content: Inject malicious scripts, spam, or abusive payloads through our contact forms or interactive inputs.
  4. Misrepresent Identity: Impersonate any person, designer, entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with Xoshnus in communications or submissions.
  5. Redistribute as Direct Competitor Service: Re-host or bulk-mirror the entire Xoshnus font catalog as a competing standalone service without proper authorization from respective designers and Xoshnus.

4. User Submissions and Communications

  • Feedback & Suggestions: If you submit feedback, font suggestions, color palettes, or bug reports through our Contact Us form (/contact-us) or other channels, you grant Xoshnus the right to review, implement, and adapt such suggestions to improve our platform without compensation or obligation to you.
  • Accuracy of Information: When communicating with us, you agree to provide truthful and accurate information.

5. Local Browser Features and Permissions

Certain tools on Xoshnus rely on modern browser capabilities:

  • Local Font Access API: The PC Fonts tool requires explicit permission in supported desktop Chromium browsers to read font names installed on your device. Xoshnus does not store or transmit your local font files or system configurations.
  • Local File Processing: Images uploaded for font matching or color picking remain in client-side memory. You are responsible for ensuring that any images you upload for personal use do not violate third-party rights.

6. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

  • Xoshnus may include links to external websites, designer social channels, and embedded YouTube videos.
  • We do not control or endorse the content, policies, or practices of third-party platforms. Your interactions with third-party sites are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

XOSHNUS AND ALL ASSOCIATED SERVICES, FONTS, TOOLS, AND CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, XOSHNUS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
  • UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION OF THE WEBSITE.
  • FLAWLESS RENDERING OR UNIFORM COMPATIBILITY OF DOWNLOADED FONT FILES ACROSS ALL THIRD-PARTY DESIGN SOFTWARE, OPERATING SYSTEMS, OR BROWSERS.
  • THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF FONT DETECTION RESULTS OR THIRD-PARTY DESIGNER METADATA.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL XOSHNUS, ITS FOUNDERS, OPERATORS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

  • YOUR ACCESS TO, USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE XOSHNUS;
  • ANY FONTS, ASSETS, OR FILES DOWNLOADED FROM THE PLATFORM;
  • ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR DATA;
  • ANY ACTION TAKEN REGARDING COPYRIGHT OR LICENSING DISPUTES WITH THIRD-PARTY FONT DESIGNERS.

9. Modifications to the Service and Terms

  • Service Updates: We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature, tool, font entry, or service on Xoshnus at any time without prior notice.
  • Changes to Terms: We may revise these Terms of Use periodically. Any changes will become effective immediately upon publication with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the platform following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination and Access Restriction

We reserve the right, without notice and at our sole discretion, to terminate or restrict your access to Xoshnus or block specific IP addresses if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in excessive scraping, or compromised the security of the platform.
